NOW OFFERING: Allergy Testing & Treatment

During a scratch test, also called a skin prick test, small amounts of suspected allergens — such as pollen, dust mites, pet dander, and molds — are placed on the skin, usually on the forearm or back. The skin is lightly pricked so the allergen can enter just beneath the surface, and the provider observes the skin for reactions that help identify your triggers. The visit is brief and performed right in our office.

For patients with identified triggers, allergen immunotherapy is an ongoing treatment option. It works by gradually exposing the body to small, increasing amounts of the allergen — through allergy shots given in the office or sublingual tablets taken under the tongue — to help build tolerance over time. Your provider will develop a treatment plan with you and monitor your progress through regular follow-up visits.

Allergy care is a process. Your provider will review your test results with you, discuss which treatment approach fits your situation, and schedule follow-up visits to monitor your progress and adjust the plan as needed.
